Barack Obama, 47, reported raising at least $10 million from more than 130,000 donors today after Palin, the Alaska governor, addressed the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, and criticized the Democratic presidential nominee.
``Sarah Palin's attacks have rallied our supporters in ways we never expected,'' Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said. ``And we fully expect John McCain's attacks tonight to help us make our grassroots organization even stronger.''
The money followed an e-mail solicitation campaign manager David Plouffe sent out right after Palin's speech.
``You know that despite what John McCain and his attack squad say, every day people have the power to build something extraordinary when we come together,'' he wrote.
McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, raised $10 million after Palin was selected as his running mate Aug. 29, part of his record $47 million haul last month.
``She's energized the base,'' said former New York Senator Alfonse D'Amato, who has raised at least $250,000 for McCain, 72. ``Money will not be a problem.''

fight for this, fight for that... POW this, POW that...
Never mind that The Vietnam war as well as The Iraq War were not needed, a tragic waste of life as well as infrastructure and money- these wars were political mistakes to put it nicely!So I guess to be a great American you have to go fight in
in some political arbitrary war- be a warrior! Well according to this cultural belief "Rambo" would make a great president too!Mccains speech is a microcosm of the difference between the two parties-

diplomacy vs. arbitrary war

liberty and science vs. right-wing self righteousness
sustainability vs. monopoly
democracy vs. plutocracy
Obama/biden vs. McCain/Palin
The choice is clear! -

I don't understand why the media and everyone else think Palin gave a fabulious speech and that she is ready to attack back in a debate with Biden. Do people not realize that all she did was read a speech that was pre-written by a Bush speechwriter? Heck, McBush can just as easily pick my name out of a hat, give me a pre-written teleprompter speech to read to the nation and make me his new rising star as well. It's what the hollywoods like to do all the time by picking an ordinary person, turn them into a superstar, and everyone else will follow. We're not trying to diss Palin as a human being, we just think this is all a joke!

After hearing her Speech, I felt like crying. Instead, I was driven to give to Obama's Campaign, Please don't let a person like that represent all that is good and decent in Americans.

Palin's speech was RNC crap. It had no substance and I forced myself to watch, hoping I would see even a glimmer of substance. Nothing, nope, nada damn thing she said had any real value except to rouse the Republican base. Insults and misrepresenting facts (LIES) aren't answers to the ills of this country....

It's great that the average Joe is finally excited about politics. But it is also sad that the political campaigns are sucking money out of already cash-strapped, hard working Americans. You would think that the nominees would opt for public funding instead of putting a financial burden on the supporters.

Whatever Mr. Obama's party wants to report, moneywise don't matter. What matter is "who is now on top of the poll?" after her speech. Money can't do anything once people change their mind and go for the better America.
