My web journalist friends Brian Bartelt and Marta Costello of the gnooze were tear gassed at the Republican National Convention. They uploaded a video containing raw footage of the tear gassing.

It occurred at the RNC, I'm not surprised.

Want to start a riot at a peaceful protest? Tear gas them. It worls every time.

And Marta, you weren't being melodramatic. You were being honest. What you experienced was the republican regime's reality.

Is Amy Goodwin right? Has MSM been intimidated not to report on the protests? MSM and the Bushes handled this very differently when it was happening in Georgia and the Ukraine. Is there no Free Press in America?

What was it that people said about the RNC that it reminded them of the Nazis? how is this "I want you to repeat after me" not similar if that is what the RNC reminds people of? I see no difference.

of course she expects to "need one of those" why else would one have a camera?

First they hate the news media then they are mad because they media didn't broadcast what they want...their agenda...their views.

Either like the news media or not. Don't pretend to hate them then secretly wish to be showed all over the world.

Protesters are obnoxious and not in a way that is at all mind altering or OMG they are so right.

A serial killer can be right. They have the knowledge of the law. They can do things and get things based on the law...the technicalities of the law. But they still did something wrong no matter how hard they spin it to make them more justified through their legal rights when they didn't afford such rights to others.

RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH is funny that they harp on when they are trying to impede said rights of the RNC. They are not trying to change things, they are trying to steal air time from the news media and then complain when it doesn't go there way---actually hold up it did go their way. Because if they got what they wanted then what would be their purpose for existing? If they got what they wanted what would be the purpose in handing out those pamphlets?

    And cussing is not peaceful.

I don't see the big deal, myself; personally, I try to throw tear gas at at least seven bloggers a day.

Don't even get me started on vloggers.

Not that I'm pro-Republicans but I guess some protesters provoked the riot police. The problem is, when provoked, the police reacted heedlessly and those innocent reporters, bloggers, vloggers or bystanders became victims.

As I mentioned in another thread...

The crux of the matter is this that when you get a large enough group together, there are bound to be individuals whom exhibit "good" and "bad" behavior.

Nothing like this is black or white; there may have been some sadistic, power-driven police officers, but there probably were a few non-peaceful protestors who served as instigators.

Don't get me wrong, it is always disturbing to see police officers using crowd control tactics of any sort... but in all fairness, they did give the crowd a warning.

    My Orgy of Violence Theory:

On the one hand, we have the police, who obviously overcompensate for some sense of insecurity and get off BIG TIME by inflicting pain on others. On the other hand, we have the protesters, who look invitingly vulnerable to violent attack and feel disappointingly unfulfilled unless they can elicit an explosive response from their partners in this forbidden dance. And they consummate this ritual in public, where their actions are observed and documented by shocked onlookers. It's all a sick perversion.
