This is my second vidcast and about now there's a Black President, wouldn't it be cool to see a Black James Bond.

When i watch UK Television, there is a massive lack of representation on the screen.

For American teens and young adults seeing is believing. And seeing actors in and on screen talents as doctors (House's Omar Epps), lawyers, Police Chiefs (Every American cop film i can think of has a black officer, even in the FBI etc) it all feeds a belief that any role is achievable.

In the UK, because of this massive lack of representation in the media in active roles, young people don't feel valued in society, especially if your from an ethnic minority

I empathize with your feelings of the lack of representation in the media, but you shouldn't have to see a character of your own race in a role to think you can achieve it. Who's to say there aren't already black agents working for British Intelligence?

Just because nobody has done it, doesn't mean it can't be done.

I did a report a while back about the lack of representation in the UK, England specifically. There have been blacks in England for as long as they have been in the United States. Slavery ended there before it did in the US and yet, the US has taken more strides to show diversity in the media.

The international community has an image of a homogeneous society and England has done little to try and correct them.

When I went to visit family in London, I knew my family and I wouldn't be the only black people there--- but I didn't expect to see such a volume of different cultures!

Why is England so lethargic when it comes to modernizing its image?
