A new online library, created by the European Commission and run by the European Digital Library Foundation, has been launched.
The project is called Europeana, and has had contributions from over 1000 cultural organisations including the British Library, the European Commission and the Louvre Museum.
Users of the internet library will be able to access books, maps, recordings, photographs, archive documents, paintings and films.
